Itaccomplishes the passivation by removing foreignmaterials and corrosion products that could set up localcells and cause pitting corrosion, and by forming anextremely thin but corrosion-resistant adherent oxidefilm on the metal.Semco® Pasa-Jell 102 can also be used to removeanodised coatings from aluminium, although it doesnot act as rapidly as Semco® Pasa-Jell 101. Whenspot removing anodised coatings, it will stay in placewithout running onto adjacent areas.
